Marijuana Indoor growing experiment progress and updates! A week later, slightly yellowing leaves!!

in #marijuana7 years ago

Hey everyone. Mary-jane guru's assistance here please @budman @rebeccaryan @pingapete @allowisticartist @ganjafarmer @ganjagirls @rawpride #tuck-fheman ! My plants have turned yellow the bottom leaves it seems. I am not over watering them have not increased at all, been the same since the start I just wonder now that they are in flowering state the 'make shift' lighting is now no longer sufficient?

The top leaves also seem very spindly, however they are still flowering..

What I have also noticed is the top leaves seem to be curling into each other for some reason and I cannot for the life of me work out why, but can only assume it is a lighting issue and they are needing a different fuller spectrum?

The indica in the middle seems very yellow and the leaves seem to be very long and thin. They are still under cfls around 14 - 16 hours a day..

Top leaves all curled up.

All and any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks a ton in advance.

Free the weed.

Quick Assessment?

Root bound, overfed and possibly magnesium deficient.

Re-pot them in to some fresh soil and add half a gram of a quality epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) per gallon to the water you're using. Use this water for the next 2-3 waterings.

Personally... I would get a neutral soil without nutrients. Pick up a bag of General Hydroponics MaxiBloom, GH pH Up powder, a bag of quality epsom salts and a pH drops kit. I also ONLY use reverse osmosis (r/o) water for growing the cleanest cannabis, with the most predictable pH results.

Transplant to the neutral soil in a bigger pot.

  • Start with 6 grams of Maxibloom per gallon of water and stir/shake until dissolved
  • Add pH Up powder, shake, test. You want 6.5 pH
  • Add .5g/gal of Epsom Salt the first few waterings
  • Water with nutrients the first day
  • Use plain r/o water the next 2 waterings

Using tap water will have unpredictable effects on pH in the solution and in the root zone, as time passes. You'll have to learn how your particular tap water works on your own.

Dark green and crispy leaf tips is overfed. Lower leaves yellowing and dying out, progressing up the plant, is underfeeding. Each seed plant will have it's own 'perfect' amount of nutrients and you may find a few which are close enough to feed the same way. I use clones, so all the plants I'm flowering take the same feed. :)

Go Be Awesome! :D

Brilliant thanks you I will try that mate really appreciate your input . Cheer$;)

Have you been giving your plant any nutrients? It looks like your plant has nitrogen deficiency. What's the grow medium made of?

Hey bro are you well? I used to put in chelated iron but I'm worried to fertilise as I plan to use these ??

I'd had over watering issues lately which looks similar to nitrogen toxicity which makes the leaves curl downwards. I recognize your issue (nitrogen deficiency) from my last grow before I added nutrients the leafs were always going yellow. In flower its normal or the leafs to go yellow and fall off, just keep that in mind. The only nutrient I use is a solution that contains seaweed.

Check out this website, great guide to identifying the problem: http://www.growweedeasy.com/marijuana-symptoms

Also make sure you remove the leaves from the top of the soil. Could attract insects and other pests. Maybe its time for a big bucket and new soil the roots grow very quickly.

Mate you need to get on shadow bot get your earnings up ask doc below how well it works. I got him and a few others on they all happy with results.

I think you may want to put them in bigger pots so their roots can spread.

Good plan bro I should. You see we both 23 on shadow caster now on shadow bot? ;)

U might try only giving them 12 hours of light if U want them to flower, prevent light leaks. & u don’t need to fertilize but u could use some organic soil with some life in it to transplant into. U could still take clones off them & start over in new pots as well

Thanks mate. .they are under artificial lights? Surely they need more??

They might enjoy brighter light but standard indoor growing is 18 hours of light for vegetative stage & 12 hours of light for flower... they can get a little confused in the middle. Not sure how bright your cfls are but I’ve seen plants finish under them. There’s also a lot of good videos out there to help with environmental troubleshooting

Thats no lighting issue.. Looks like huge PH issues or really bad growing medium..roots are smothered or starved.

Thanks mate quiet possible I'll transplant and see what happens. Lights have worked till now so you may be right
