Marijuana used to be legal in Nepal until 1973 A.D. In fact, people in America/Europe heard about this little country due to Marijuana and Hashish, which has also been stated in many books and articles.

Though marijuana is completely illegal since 1973/74, Nepal still has a fine contribution on world Hashish market. Once I read a whole article about fake marijuana and hashish from Nepal, being sold in Europe and America.
