Most people think about the legal drug consumption when they think about Amsterdam.
But how is it possible that its legal there? Whats really legal und how easy is it to buy it?
Cannabis is not really legal there, its just tolerated. The politics of the Netherlands want to prevent that people buy on the black market to get their Cannabis. So there are more than hundreds of Coffeeshops where you can buy up to five gram of weed. Alcohol and tabaco are not allowed in the shop and you have to be over 18 years old.
If you want to make the big businnes now i have to disappoint you. Weedgardening, wholesale, to im- and export is farther not allowed.
From that results a big problem for the Coffeeshops: how do they get the Weed and who is controlling the cultivation?
Thats why the parliament voted in February 2017 for a controlled Weedcultivation to supply all the Coffeeshops legally. If the first chamber will also vote with yes, the Netherlands will be the second (next Uruquay) land in the world where Weed is legal/regulated for the private use.
Since 1.12.2008 fresh magic mushrooms that contain psilocybin are forbidden in the Smartshops (dried they were already forbidden since 2002) because there were a few accidents with the drugtourists.
Indeed truffle that contains psilocybin are allowed because they are not mushrooms by law.
We went in October 2016 in some Smartshops and asked for some fresh magic mushrooms and they sell them still.
So i´m not really sure how they reach trough.
