In this report I discuss H.R. 5404 which is a bill introduced to the 115th U.S. Congress to define the dollar as a fixed weight of gold by congressman Alex Mooney of West Virginia's 2nd congressional district.
The bill is a long way from becoming the law of the land but if it were to pass through both houses of congress and be signed into law by President Trump it could strip away the power of the central bankers manipulate the price of money and the markets.
The findings of the bill show that the U.S. economy performed a great deal better when the dollar was defined as a weight of gold prior to the creation of the Federal Reserve System in 1913.

I posted about this bill yesterday. If nothing else it demonstrates that congress is not completely ignorant of honest money. The thing about this that would be advantageous for the US is that a skyrocketing price of gold and a gold backed dollar would neutralise the national debt. Of course the world would also experience crippling inflation, but it would solve the big debt problem. Gold holders would also be very happy.

I'm not too optimistic of this -- it would certainly destroy the fed so any real effort towards getting it realized could be met with casualties.
