Who doesn't love to see what they will be selling in some foreign market, shopping in places I have never been to and some, never even heard of. There is always a curiosity attached to foreign ingredients, different produce or any product sold. So, yes! I would love to see yours! This week I thought I would do a different Market Friday than normal. Although I'm pretty sure we tow the line on what normal is. Instead of shopping for merchandise, I found myself needing to return some two by fours that have been bought and not used. We all have that special someone in our house that buys ahead of time for a project that never seems to get done. I had a large stack of wood that was purchased for a project. One that never got done. Did I say that already?
The wood has been stacked in a special corner to keep it straight and will not work or get dirty, because we know how special this project is but never has been done. After looking at this wood for approximately one and a half to two years, I decided that it needed to be returned. I took the seats out of my van and stacked on the wood in there. I drove the five 5.8 miles to my local Lowe's and wondered how I was going to approach them about this wood that was approaching old age.
I slid it within his reach and held my breath. They checked the wood and said they would send someone out to my car to get the rest of the wood. Seriously! How nice was that!?
Score!
I put the piece of wood up on the counter as the worker walked out. He took one look at it and determined that because they still sold that there, there was no problem taking it back and he would send somebody out to unload my car.
Wow! I was thinking I was going to have to do it.
Then along came my superhero with his big helper. I watched it as it came barreling down the aisle, looking for me.
I raised my hand and waved. I am over here, I said. Oh, my! He is coming to take it away.
No Stress. They pulled it all out and loaded it up. Where were they when I needed them back home? I hope they come with a warranty. I wouldn't want these guys to get broken and not repaired.
They buzzed down that aisle and stop midway, jumped right out and began restocking the merchandise immediately!
Time waits for no one
Pro services took and counted my lumber. Then they did the unthinkable. They paid cold hard cash for lumber that was sitting in my storage shed getting ready to collect dust. Well, now that I have extra money, let's stroll around the store and see if we can find something pretty for the garden! I know I can do it!

I've been involved with crypto long enough to be feeling very blessed at this point. The down payment on the new a-frame trailer came from a small investment I made in crypto coins too. My hope is that all of us the world over can find success and prosperity.

It is my thoughts that you should only buy what you need to keep waste to a minimum! I have wasted things myself or had them expire buying it on sale and then not using it.
I get so mad at myself when I do that!

Wow! That is really some customer service. You sharing that story really makes me feel good about buying from Lowes. I actually bought my John Deere zero turn from there ;) That is like finding money blowing down the street! You dont have to spend it all on flowers! I think I would buy me some SP!!!

Truly! It goes a long way with me when they treat a customer like that. I did the happy dance all the way home.

Actually, that is one of the things I LOVE about our big hardware store. They allow you to buy stuff and bring it back with no complaints. When doing a big project, there are so many 'if's' and 'whatevers' that come up. So I just buy more than I need on the CC, then take it back once done. Saves a BUNCH of trips back and forth. Though waiting for a long time on some things might backfire. Usually not though. But every trip in the door seems to be $100, guess that's part of the hardware biz. That's great they took it all back. Keep on shoppin and Friday'n ( :
Isn't that the truth!! It is absolutely the $100 door swing. I can never leave those places without dropping a wad of bills.
I was ready for it to backfire, one of the reasons I only brought one piece in to see if they would take it back. When they didn't even blink and sent someone out to get it! Score! I felt like I won the lottery.

Thanks so much for the kind thoughts and word about my precious little Stinklepuss. She was a wonder, and I sure do miss her. That old corny adage about time is so true. It always gets better after awhile, but they leave an indelible mark on our lives. She was definitely one of a kind, more of a dog than a cat. (Though looked at me with certain distain when I tried to get her to fetch. Looked at me with a "right!" I will probably still tell stories about here on here now and then, and there are more "Cat Facts" to put at the bottom of each post. I have a GOB of them. Unfortunately, that little guy went away too. I SO miss my talks with catfacts. I used to stay up WAY too late and have little running banter with him/her. It was fun (I gotta get a life O :
I wrote to the creator of them, to try to see if I could get more after it went away, but haven't heard back. Sigh. Life changes, maybe I should try to keep up. NAH!

With our deck project, I bet we spend more time in this store than usual. I'm not a huge shopper but I don't mind stores like this. I can see all of the home projects I want to make Hubby do as we walk through. ;P lol

So what was the project that never got done? Curious minds would like to know.😁
Now that is funny. Would you really like to know what the project was? It was two years ago and you want me to think about that? Well to be honest with you, it was a shelving unit to hold things in the garage. It even had hardware for the end hold them together. I brought those back to and it brought back a whopping $81 us. I ended up buying metal shelves which roll and are much better suited for the job.

That was only for the pieces to put it together. I got $128.13 us for the wood. Put them together and I'm rich. Well richer anyway.

That is how I felt! Until I tried and failed, I would never know! I was pretty happy that they were kind and the wood was brand new looking... I recommend Lowe's in general as their customer service is awesome!
The project was a shelving unit for a shed and I bought a metal rolling one instead.

Now, that is what I call customer service! In this country, if you buy something it is yours! No refunds, no exchanges, no nada! So when I buy something, especially construction materials, I make sure that I can use it either now or in a future project. We are always doing something on the homestead.
We are too, but, I just got tired of the extra things around here that had been purchased and didn't get used as of yet.
That would be a hard pill to swallow, Ceci! No refunds! I admit it, we are spoiled, but that is another reason for me bringing it back, Buy what you need! Leave the rest behind!
Okay. That is just my opinion.
