Why relationship marketing is NOT traditional marketing?

Understand relationship marketing a little better when we compare it with other types of marketing such as traditional marketing, which is what we know best.

I think that the key point that differentiates relational marketing from traditional marketing is the type of communication that we use. Traditional marketing focuses massively without making great distinctions, it only tries to cover the largest amount of audience with the same message, while relationship marketing focuses more on one-on-one and well-personalized conversations, there are tools that help that this is possible as the CRM, which allows to obtain the greatest amount of information to interact with customers and understand their behavior.

Another difference that stands out is that traditional marketing is transactional in nature and focuses on the product, in general sales and the quality of sales or transactions, while relationship marketing focuses on the customer and above all in creating a lasting and stable relationship not only so that this client buys but also buys again and refers us in his circle.

Last but not least, what differentiates traditional marketing from relational marketing is that one is short-term and the other is long-term, traditional marketing focuses on the short term, pays attention to capturing the customer and generate sales with a certain campaign while traditional marketing develops a much longer-term vision since it aims at customer loyalty by increasing the economic value of each one of them.

¿Porqué el marketing relacional NO es el marketing tradicional?

Entender un poco mejor el marketing relacional cuando lo comparamos con otros tipos de marketing como por ejemplo el marketing tradicional que es lo que más conocemos.

Creo que el punto clave que diferencia el marketing relacional al marketing tradicional es el tipo de la comunicación que empleamos. El marketing tradicional se enfoca de manera masiva sin hacer grandes distinciones, sólo trata de abarcar la mayor cantidad de audiencia con un mismo mensaje, mientras que el marketing relacional se enfoca más en las conversaciones uno a uno y bien personalizadas, existen herramientas que ayudan a que esto sea posible como el CRM, qué permite obtener la mayor cantidad de información para interactuar con los clientes y entender su comportamiento.

Otra de las diferencias que sobresalen es que el marketing tradicional es de naturaleza transaccional se enfoca en el producto, en general ventas y en la calidad de las ventas o transacciones, mientras que el marketing relacional se enfoca en el cliente y sobretodo en crear una relación duradera y estable no sólo para que este cliente compre sino que vuelva a comprar y nos refiera en su círculo.

Cómo última y no menos importante lo que diferencia al marketing tradicional del marketing relacional es que uno es a corto plazo y el otro es a largo plazo, el marketing tradicional pone el foco a corto plazo, pone la atención en captar el cliente y generar ventas con determinada campaña mientras que el marketing tradicional desarrolla una visión mucho más a largo plazo ya que apunta a la fidelización de los clientes aumentando el valor económico de cada uno de ellos.
