Being on steemit , a blockchain backed platform , I think it is apparent to all of us that decentralization is the future , from cryptocurrency to Uber and Airbnb .
Airbnb has decentralised the hospitality industry making it possible for anyone to turn their pad into a boutique B&B.
Now we have Online education like Udemy and Udacity etc where you can find courses on everything from Marketing and machine learning to Hacking to how to pick up girls . This information would have only been available to a sellect few in the past , now is essentially widely available to all
Decentralization is a huge trend and we are seeing a huge number of businesses and platforms pop up which take services and information which was once centralized and reserved for a special few .
If you think back a decade , when many of us were teenagers , If you or a friend were working out 4-5 times per week and taking supplements , people thought you were OBSESSIVE or A FREAK , now YOUR MOM IS DOING CROSSFIT AND POPPING CREATINE PILLS .
Pre Starbucks , people were reluctant to pay anything above a DOLLAR for a cup of coffee , coffee was drank at dinners and people were not interested in your Dark roast Colombian beans or your award winning baristas ...Then coffee culture took off .
If you can Identify Trends and the human relations they evoke , you have a huge business opportunity .
People love status . Women select men based on status , we all love celebrities and sports stars because they have status .
Gym and fitness culture , although a net positive , when coupled with Instagram , allows one to flex their status [and ego ] by taking post gym selfies ,workout videos etc etc .
This allows people a manner of boosting their personal self esteem and perceived status .
What other trends can you get on the back of ?
What upcoming trend can also serve peoples own egoic interests ?
people like to feel good about themselves ......Maybe environmentalism ?!?
maybe we will see #savetheplanet take off ?!?
help people reduce their waste + provide people a means to brag about it = you got yourself a winner
This is just an example , but spotting trends is a huge key to entrepreneurship and in the case of Airbnb , Uber ,Lyft , Udemy , Udacity etc etc you do not even have to reinvent the wheel but essentially connect two trends or niches [travel][decentralisation]
[Fitness][decentralisation] ----> develop an app to find online personal trainers do this daily and you will have some very creative ideas .
