We are about to enter into 2019, and everyone is asking what will be the best drone in 2019. We can already claim some winners even if we are not yet in 2019.
Some drones are so well done that even if the competition wants to catch up, it will be hard for them to create a better drone. Unfortunately or fortunately depending on who you ask, there is still a huge monopoly on the drone marketplace. Majority of the drone companies are not competing with DJI. DJI is still the leader in the, and even tho other companies create drones none of them are actually aiming to take a piece of cake from DJI. Maybe I am wrong, perhaps they are seeking but are unable to make any bit from the market.
The only company that managed to attack DJI so far is XIAOMI with their unique drone that is identical to DJI Phantom but way more affordable. We can say that Parrot company is trying to compete but still falling behind DJI.
I must say that in 2019 the best drones will be from DJI. DJI Inspire version is costly but will still remain the best drone solution for the people who have no concerns on the budget. DJI Inspire 2 is a professional drone capable of amazing things int he air. DJI Inspire has many functions other drones don't have. It is a highly customized drone which can carry any camera. Thanks to the strong motors and lifting power a huge high-quality camera can be taken up in the air. While in the air DJI Inspire will provide maximum stability which will allow you steady and amazing videos just like the professionals do. This drone is mostly used by television on the sports events.
DJI Inspire One is also a good solution, it has less power and functions as the DJI Inspire 2, but still, this drone is way better than all the other drones we will mention in this article.
The next on the list of best drones for 2019 is DJI Mavic versions. There are many DJI Mavic versions, Mavic Air, Mavic Zoom, Mavic 2 Pro and there is not much a big difference among them. Of course they are different and used for specific actions, but in general, the difference is not that big. Flight time is identical, air features almost the same. The biggest difference between old Mavic Pro and the new Mavic 2 Pro is the camera and new obstacle avoidance system. Now you should decide if those features are enough to go with the latest versions which are by the way more expensive than the old Mavic Pro.
DJI Phantom is the third selection for the best drones in 2019 and to tell you the truth that the best drone in DJI Phantom 4 series, a so-called Pro edition is maybe even better than the recently released DJI Mavic 2 Pro. The power of the Phantom comes from its large size and fantastic flight abilities. Just like a DJI Inspire Phantom series is also powerful to lift a decent camera that will then give you amazing pictures and videos in return. DJI Mavic Pro cannot do that and because of that Phantom series maybe earn a second position. But because Phantom series also has some cheap versions of Phantom 2 and 3 (which are in my humble opinion good drones for the price you are paying), it is in the third place.
And at the end, I will mention Parrot drones just because I don't love monopoly and I hate when there is no competition on the market. When there is no competition on the market, we are not going forward at the rapid speed. Parrot drones are trying to compete, and because of that, I would instead buy a Parrot Bebop 2 than for example an old DJI Mavic Pro even though maybe DJI Mavic Pro is a better drone. I mean you will pay more for a Mavic that's no secret, but you will also get more. Recently released Parrot Anafi is a perfect drone to combat DJI Mavic and you on your own need to decide if Anafi is doing a good job. In my opinion, Anafi is very close to the DJI Mavic and because of that is mentioned in this list.
Summary
Drones in this article are all released before 2019, and I am not sure if until end of 2019 there won't be a better drone. I am somehow convinced that DJI and hopefully competition will release a decent drone that can get on the list of best drones in 2019. I am hoping that Yuneec company will get their heads together and release some powerful but yet affordable drone.
