Maybe Soon...

Magandang buhay💗

We are halfway through the week, and whilst things may not be as rosy as we would want them to be, we are doing well. My old man (Dad) went to the doctor in the morning. Thankfully, there was nothing serious. He needed to continue his maintenance meds and rest a bit more.

I kind of understood him, especially since he started removing Mom's belongings from her closet. Maybe it's a sign of acceptance. It's a tough question, but I had to ask where he plans on putting them all. He said he is just packing them. "Can I have some of her things?" I asked further. "Sure. Just open those boxes. Her shoes are all there, too," he pointed to the shoe cabinet.

I took the suede Ugg boots on my way out and wore them throughout the day while I worked in the yard. They kept my feet warm.

"Your mom has the same pair, exactly like that," Dad remarked when he came by the front yard in the afternoon. "Ha? You didn't see me taking them this morning? These are hers," I continued. "Oh, yeah? I didn't notice," he was surprised. Mom and I have the same body build and shoe size, so I know most of her things fit me. I am my mother's xerox copy, after all, as most people say. I lost count of how many times I was asked if I was her daughter.

But yes, it's nice that even if Mom hadn't been socializing for almost half of her life, some people still fondly remember her. It made me wonder, would they do the same when my time comes? "She has a lot more shoes if you want them," Dad's voice brought me back to the present before my mind traveled farther.

"I'll check them soon," I replied.

The "soon" might be tomorrow, or more likely, after her anniversary. Until then, I'm gonna continue to wear her boots and savor the warmth they provide.

Smile... laugh often... love more... be grateful always!

It's not easy to pack stuff, but at a point you have to, at least dresses... My grandmother threw everything in the garbage after a few weeks when my grandfather passed away

Using their things brings back memories sis. Marami din siguro makaalala sayo in the future, someday.😐

Don't know what to say but I can understand the warmth of the feeling behind the post.
