--CBD and Schizophrenia: An unlikely medication for the most taboo mental illness--

Weed, people enjoy it recreationally and Medicinally but those who enjoy it too young or have the wrong genes may go on a trip of a lifetime via the means of THC-induced Schizophrenia. But there's good news, THC's more medicinal sister is the cure. CBD has been analyzed for possible properties and one of them is that its a very effective Anti-psychotic, an Anti-psychotic that for the most part doesn't have any negative side effects and isn't addictive. A wonder drug for those with Schizophrenia and Schizoaffective Disorders, since many of the drugs given to such people have more than a few issues.

CBD has been shown through anecdotal statements from Schizophrenic patients to; Make the voices go away, take the shroud away from their mind, organise their thoughts better and push their delusions down so that they aren't destructive in their life. I have Schizoaffective Disorder, I've suffered for as long as i can remember but i only pushed for a diagnosis until this year, it was getting too much.

At the moment i've been put on Aripiprazole which has some of the most concerning side effects of any pharmaceutical i've ever tried, side effects include; Restlessness, Extreme Tiredness, Emotional drain, blurred vision, weight gain, weight loss, agitation and a lot more. Some days i wake up for work thinking that the Schizophrenic symptoms might not be as bad as the side effects of the medication. So to hear that CBD, may actually help is a breath of fresh air for me, and a major comfort, and due to the change in the weed laws in the UK, i may actually be able to get some real help without the side effects.
