When we were in Dubai we went out for a meal at 7pm and the place was basically empty. It turns out most people go out much later as the restaurants close at 3am and why no one is around at 7pm. Same in Paris when most bookings are for 10pm so we would never eat at that time because it is way too late.

oh I would hate that sort of dining time. When I was a wastoid in college it was common for everyone to go eat and 24 hour joints after the bars but it wasn't just a normal thing for people to go out dining really late. I'm a 5-7pm dinner kind of guy these days. When people even suggest getting dinner after that it rubs me the wrong way. I'll be too hungry and the only way I can participate in their plans is if I eat dinner twice.
