Little do people know, Leonardo Da Vinci actually painted two Mona Lisa's. The first one, Mona Risa, named after a Japanese woman from Nagoya in full kimono, was painted years before the more well known Mona Lisa. Inspired by forbidden love, Da Vinci sought to immortalize that which he could not have.
In all seriousness, I don't know who created the Mona Risa. A Japanese friend posted it on GAB this morning and I thought I would share it. I'm enamored by it so much I am going to find the original and get it framed to put on one of our walls.
Mona Risa, Mona Risa, men have named you....
HAHAHA I Mona Risa kawaii ne 😁
An improvement on the original in my opinion.
Alternative art history. Love it!
I wonder what old Japanese art would have looked like if they had painted illusionistic realism.
