Be Vulnerable to our selves

“We stay on the outside of our impressions, as If staring at them through a frosted window, superficially related to them, yet estranged from whatever has eluded casual definition. ”
By Marcel Proust

Recently I came across a video which discusses about feeling down and being stressed over day today life experiences as well as circumstances. In that video, few exercises were discussed deeply discussing how to relax our minds despite of what is going on in the external world and help us to clarify our internal thought patterns. So I thought of sharing two of them in hive as well.

Exercise 1 - Excessive Write - To go through all our feelings

This is just like journaling but not being restricted to any formats. We just have to freely write all the feelings, our perspectives about particular situation, why we feel they did something wrong, and why exactly we feel angry or jealous about particular situation.

As per the video suggests, most of the time we are not able to be open as genuinely as possible at the first attempt of writing. But encourages us to be little more open every time we sit to write. Steps of the exercise are as follows.

🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱

  1. Write Electronically - We can use electronic devices to type as well.
  2. Pretend you’re speaking - Be the narrative, So it helps to flow our thoughts to be written.
  3. Find your powerful prompt
  4. Don’t stop to reread - Don't read what you wrote.
  5. Write knowing no one will read - Try your best to be more open while knowing that no body is going to read this.
  6. At the end just delete or if you used a paper burn it.

Be vulnerable with your self and try to be open as possible in a calm environment.

Exercise 2 - This exercise aims to power up our positive qualities and to reduce the power of our negative qualities and thoughts.

  1. How much am I feeling confident? 1-7
  2. Select three qualities which we value?
  3. Select two qualities which we think negative?
  4. Write positive ones in dominant hand
  5. Write negative ones in non dominant hand
  6. Now how much confident am I? 1- 7

Out of both of these two exercises, first one is more effective not just because of it's results are quick, but that relaxes our minds and helps us to know what is really going in our minds.
It helps us to figure out our sensitive points and what incidents made them sensitive may be childhood trauma, or how someone treated us, or we failed at something, etc.

I really welcome all who read this, to try that because it's really effective.
