The astronomers have revealed the longest total lunar eclipse ahead of july full moon. this eclipse is the longest of 21st century lasts for one hour and fourty three minute nearly fourty min longer than the january super blue blood moon.
During the total eclipse , when moon is passing through the shadow cast by earth the moon take on deep red to orange colour rather than completely disappear from sight.
The moon takes nearly four hours to cross the earth's dark shadow following with colour transitions.

Why this lunar eclipse is so long?

In the month of july 2018 the full moon and lunar apogee appears on same date of july. Lunar apogee is the moons farthest orbital point from earth so it takes longer for moon to cross earths shadow.

When will it be visible?
