The city of joy kolkata which is also known as city of buildings. Two years ago on 31 march 2016 steel span of the under-construction Vivekananda flyover in the Girish Park neighbourhood of Kolkata, India, collapsed. 27 people died and more than 80 were injured in the incident.
The same scenario repeated today afternoon 04/sept/2018. As of now seven people have been injured in the incident. Several more people and vehicles are feared trapped under the collapsed bridge.
Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajiv Kumar along with the senior officials of police and PWD have reached the spot. Relief and rescue operations are under way. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who is in Darjeeling now, has asked Kolkata Mayor Sovan Chatterjee and Minister Firhad Hakim to reach the spot. Rescue operation has been started.
