RE: How to Use Gratitude For 5 Mins Each Morning & Boost Mindfulness All Day

in #mindfulness8 years ago (edited)

Very interesting. We use all sorts of indicators to come up with all sorts of conclusions (often unrelated whatsoever). The mind just takes the shortest rout available to evaluate whatever is happening. This mechanism is aimed at keeping us safe, and I'm grateful to the mind I don't need to think to know what is in front of me every time I see a cup of coffee. It is when we let the mind sit in the driver's seat permanently the trouble creeps up, we start living on autopilot. We misinterpret what is happening and react based on misunderstanding.

Very true, especially with the coffee example. Our minds react weirdly to physical stimuli, sometimes I'll get sad if I'm physically cold or other weird stuff like that. I used to think I was depressed some afternoons when all I needed was another sweatshirt :-O. Our bodies are so weird!! Thanks for swinging by @cryptasana
