Mindful Life Curation - 2nd Week February 2020

Reading through this week's posts on Steem, I found folks writing on different types of meditation. With some things that we don't always think of as meditation being presented in such a way as to be considered a meditation.

I ran into this wonderful post by @tantrabanter when checking out the #consciousness tag. He had an introductory post to a course he is taking Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) here then he went on to share what he was learning in that post in a second post here. It was all about the Beginner's Mind and he described the different steps they were given to achieve this Beginner's Mind (think more like the mind of a child) and the benefits he realized from implementing them. It seemed to give a fresh outlook and it sounded like something I'd like to give a try!

@vieira had a wonderful post of the importance of resting, not doing anything! How many of us are really doing that in this fast paced world? You can read it here

He writes:

Rest is simply taking time to do nothing, literally do nothing and see what happens. This can be seen as meditation. Where we are only passive observers.
The importance of doing nothing is equal to that of doing something, only that it is constantly undervalued. If we don't rest properly we will not have the ability to do our work in the most effective way and our creativity and mental abilities will be at their worst level.

@kadoka had an interesting post involving an angel and a message he had gotten while creating trance-inducing music which led him to flashbacks of previous states of ego in his life with an angel witnessing it. He wrote

Meditations on what could have been, or still could be, if we as flawed humans each in different developmental stages of our learning process only had a bit more faith in ourselves and a bit more understanding of our motives. The angel has seen all of this; she is omniscient. She hasn't only witnessed my all of my actions as if watching a film, but she also sees in my mind and deeply understands the effects that each experience had on my developing psyche. It seems, she understands and remembers even better than I do, and that's why she's here now, showing me what happened, traumas that had been blocked out, encouraging me to indulge in my emotional outpouring upon rememberance of each event shown. She urges me to look closely, to feel deeply, so that I may know how to move forward in a way that separates me from the conditionings of my past. Open fully and take all this in so that you may learn from your past.

It is a very interesting conclusion he shared about how we create egos because of our lack of omniscience.
Plus there is some beautiful butterfly photos. I enjoyed this read and it gave me some insights and a different perspective as living as an individual in the present. I hope you enjoy reading it too! Read it here

Meditation has really changed my life in a way I never thought it could. And yes I totally agree that just sitting and passively observing is a form of meditation. Rest is so important for the body and mind. In today’s world, everyone is in such a rush to go nowhere. I mean, really, what are we all in a rush to do? The last year has really taught me to take a step back and just slow down and be in the moment. This can be extremely hard to do, especially for someone that has a mind that never wants to stop. It has taught me that all the things I was trying to rush to achieve really are not that important. Health is so much more than money or material possessions. So that is why my focus has shifted from financial focus to a focus on my mental and physical health.

Thank you for the mention. Btw, I'm male...but yeah, I love creating these pieces on my channel, "Montana Cellist."

@porters here sorry about mistaking you for a female. I just took a guess for it is so hard to tell here on Steem until you have more interaction. But I did want to mention your beautiful music and just took the pronoun he/his - thanks for correcting me!

Totally fine! Thanks for sharing my music!
