I agree with you on all points, especially that one should be able to listen. The success of the dialogue depends on the ability to listen and the desire to hear the interlocutor.
If both are deaf to each other, no conversation will work out.
More and more, we try to share our problems and experiences with people around us, and less and less we try to hear everything that all the same people tell us.
Unfortunately, we have forgotten how to not only listen, but also to hear
