RE: Minnowbooster Update Log #12

in #minnowbooster7 years ago (edited)

Maybe mention what would happen to those who sent funds on the 6th day mark and were denied an upvote due to it being 'too late' when your bot got back up and running.

So no... Not everyone got their upvotes.

While I'm at it:

Why not programmatically refund payments sent to minnowbooster? When a lot of people using your services will simply see the '6 days ago' on their post, send funds and lose the 1 SBD which would then collected as a 'donation'?

Either:

  1. You know you can do it but don't bother to implement it taking advantage of user stupidity
  2. It's on your development roadmap

It's likely a good percentage of minnowbooster users don't follow your accounts they simply send the funds and hope your bot won't fuck up.. They wouldn't even be aware of what nodes being down even meant.

I can do an analysis if you want on how many of your users actually follow your accounts to know if your bot is currently unavailable for x reason if you would like?

Yes they should be following you but most won't be.

Don't see this as an attack of any sorts though.. I really like what you are doing for the community but think you could make some improvements to minnowbooster for the less technically inclined.

Just a quick peek in Steemd and I find this one from yesterday (Unlucky eh? Lost 1$ trying to use your service on 6th day)

I wonder how many 'donations' minnowbooster has collected from unfortunate transfers?

Refunding upvotes in their last 12 hours is on our roadmap and will hopefully be implemented soon. I have a crude refund already implemented but that sometimes does not work because of blockchain weirdness. Currently some normal refunds get lost in the chain so our priority is fixing these before we fix the extra refunds from 12h payouts.

Refunding people before the api nodes got up again would be a nightmare because it means these get processed anyways.

We are working on minnowbooster daily and we have a huge backlog of things to do and automatically refunding these problems is one of them. We are btw always looking for new developers who can help us if you are interested.
