On Sunday, 14th April, 2013; we took a bold step in the right direction to say I DO. Merely, one would have thought this may not workout but assurance is that when the Almighty is adequately involved, no mountain will be too high to climb.

First on 13th April that same year, the traditional rites were settled. The conventional African way. Bride price has a lot of indices that solemnize marriage. The settlement is quite interesting such that we had to pay the following items.

√ 106 tubers of yam to the bride's family.
√ A tin of beverages cocoa tea and milk.
√ One lap of mature Antelope.
√ Four bags of rice.
√ Four jars of palm wine.
√ Four cartons of stout
√ Four cartons of malt
√ One tray of Kolanut.
√ One tray of garden eggs.
√ Pieces of stock fish.
√ A bag of salt.
√ Four packets of cube sugar.
Traditional wedding attire is always native clothes. We danced to traditional music and served traditional food. Akpu with ofe nsala
The evening of that day was quite a busy one for both families. Preparations were in top gear. Since the wedding was held at Agbor in Delta state, the home of the bride, my wife to be. We were receiving calls from friends who were on their way from Lagos.
In the kitchen women pounding akpu (cassava flakes), slicing onions, frying meat etc.

It was just like yesterday. This whole thing seem like a dream. But in all, its already five years and still counting. I would love to write a simple poem but that would be in my next post. Its my happy day, celebrate with me. Upvote and drop a comment.
