RE: Getting the most out of minnowsupport: How to upvote your comment!

in #minnowsupport8 years ago

Correct, our first goal at @minnowsupport is to help all the minnows. This means that we want to boost quality content and help them to get noticed. We have allowed for comments to remain a thing for upvotes due to a belief in liberty to do with your upvote what you will.

We would hope that if you are going to upvote a comment, it's one that someone else made. Help a commenter on your post get noticed, and the like.

Far too much we are seeing the bot used as a tool for people to make money. We are able to catch the people who find ways around the 12 hour cooldown, but we also might one day look at improving the way this curation is done.

Besides, the greatest increase in rewards and income is going to come from the other aspects of the community. The people, and the help in gaining a real, active, following.

Great response! The best strategy for us minnows is to just continue to grow the MSP community. Quality content is really, the only goal here. I'm certain this will grow into a HUGE whale very soon. I really have only used the upvote on only one upvote, just as a test. Wrote the post as soon as I saw that it works.

One thing I noticed however is that @minnowsupport sometimes doesn't leave comments upon an upvote, and that's troubling for the advertising of the group (but then again, the biggest growth factor is the community itself, not the upvote bot ) .
