So, it wasn't that long ago that we hit msp5k. Nearly as soon as we did it we started pruning inactive members every single week. It's hurt the numbers. Overnight we were down to about 4k people. So, as a team we set a goal. Not only would we get to back to 5,000 members, but would shoot for 6,000 before the end of the year. That's a 50% growth of what's already the largest off block Steem group!
We did it!
Just want to proudly share that we have met our goal 9 days ahead of schedule. We're rocking more than 6,000 Steemians in the pond (yes even after the inactives were pruned). This has been a massive team effort by the witnesses, mods, and members of the Minnow Support Community. It feels pretty awesome!
So many projects
We help so many people on this block it's staggering. We have the @minnowsupport account with 85k steem that is tapped by over a thousand people a day. We have manual curation through msp-curation. We have mspwaves our own radio station. We have channels, workshops, support groups, friends and ultimately a family in here that cares about the Steem ecosystem and one another.
We have gosteem.com and mspsteem.com. These are clones of the steemit website and we have been hosting them since the steemit.com website was going through trouble. gosteem is setup by @followbtcnews, @crimsonclad, and @drakos. @mspsteem is run by @netuoso and has turned into a testing ground for new features he builds for condenser.
We manage a full RPC node that @followbtcnews set up and help with one that @netuoso runs as well. We're launching a new server to help one of the well known services on the block soon (purposefully left open ended). We have websites, artwork, radio shows, curation, Discord tools, and a million other projects that are launched out of here.
We send MINNOWS into TRENDING!!! Where else do you see that?!?
We've been here about 6 months
We've done amazing things, and I feel blessed daily by the witnesses that built this with me, the moderators that manage it, the members that spend hours of time, and the community at large that help make this place feel like home and the various whales that support our posts. It still amazes me that we built this from nothing in 6 months, and frankly I couldn't be prouder.
We've paid out hundreds of steem to contest winners. Resteemed countless new people to help them get their start. We've used our vote more than 100,000 times since we started. We've helped create new Discord communities. We've helped people crawl out of depression and addiction.
This is a worth project, and these are worthy people.
The Charter
I know that I try my best every day to live up to the charter of spreading the values of Peace, Abundance, and Liberty, helping the Steem ecosystem grow, and training and retaining minnows on the platform to be successful. I know the rocks of this community understand the true importance of that. This isn't just a chat wall. It's a movement.
