Inside the Peace, Abundance, and Liberty network anyone on the platform is welcome to use a command to get a vote from the @minnowsupport account. Every single vote that is cast by the account is done manually. Many are done by minnows upvoting themselves and many are done by team curators with larger votes to help minnows get some post rewards started on their work.
In an effort to stop misuse and abuse of the community upvote bot provided by MSP and those that delegate power to it, we have made some changes. Going forward we are manually monitoring the bot registration room to prevent multiple account users and ensure that @minnowsupport upvotes are going towards quality content. New users as well as many of the old users are currently unable to use the bot until we verify their registration manually. This is a community project and the goal is transparency in how we are using delegated funds and what we are doing to prevent them from being misused.
@discordiant and @crimsonclad have been monitoring the previously growing situation with users creating multiple accounts and we feel that this change has drastically reduced that misuse of voting power. @discordiant is also removing votes that our community bot has placed on low quality posts and plagiarized content. Ideally we aim to limit as much misuse as possible and these are some of the measures we have put in place for corrective action. We will continue to monitor these situations and also investigate new forms of abusive behavior as we become aware of them. Resteeming this for community information. I think it is great to direct votes towards good quality content only and remove abusive accounts.
This way, the votes will have to cast less frequently, saving VP of bots. It will also increase the value of upvotes that good content will get.
Fruther, I would request to give bots and voting accounts a rest of at least 3 days to be at 100 % VP once and then start voting good content only.
Sounds great to me. I am completely willing to be reviewed for good content before getting an upvote.

STOPI don't claim to understand the system all that well, but it sounds like a sensible plan; although a shame that it even had to be implemented (the few always spoiling it for the majority) and make further work for busy people.

Yes good change. Many people here create multiple accounts and use it for earning more from minnowsupport. This is bad thing. I dont like it. I think steem plateform must not allow users from creating multiple IDs from one IP address.

Just a thought, but what if @minnowsupport doesn't actually vote until the post has a specified number of votes. Say '5' and that way there has been some sort of human curation happening already.
