As a newb minnow this means a lot to me and is the perhaps the biggest hurdle with steemit, and that is getting "seen".
No, the upvotes are not as important as the resteem by a whale or bot.
Because many minnows are creating awesome content but it is not getting seen...
What do you think about even if you don't upvote the minnows' post consider re-steeming it if you see it has value?
