If you help others light their candle of success, you can return to them to relight your candle if it goes off. But if you leave them in darkness, there will be no one to help reignite your candle in the event that life blows it out.
Helping others is self insurance because life will definitely blow out your candle at one point or the other. In fact, it is better to get double insurance by helping multiple people light their own candle. The more you light, the more insured against failure you are.
