Welcome to Qurator's Mischievous Mondays!

This will be a weekly competition that we will be hosting every Monday. We want to see a little more engagement and fun when it comes to some of our competitions so this will be a simpler and shorter competition. Easy to enter, but maybe not so easy to win. ;) This competition will be similar to the Monday Missions we had a long time ago, but instead of writing posts to enter we will now consider only the comments and answers on this blog as your entry to win.

Why Mischievous?

We all could use a little fun in our lives. We would even say that we deserve it, let loose a little and have a go at making everyone laugh or think a little, even if it is a little over the top or pure silliness. Go all out and let your creative juices flow.

This week's theme : If you were given an island.

You were fortunate enough that someone gave you an island. It has nothing on it. It is about 10km across and in the shape of a circle. What would you do with your island?

First I would find the center of the island.

Then I would send two groups on a 45 degree angle from my left and right. They would stop around 2 meters and commence digging holes.

The rest would go straight behind me behind me a few meters and start digging a curved line in each direction.

Once everything was done we'd have a pizza party and send the drone upwards while we're eating and having a great time.

Someone will eventually ask why we did all this work and I'll soon have the drone pictures ready for the answer.

This is why:

I hope it all works as I've planned.
ps. the water did not seem to turn out properly in my image for some reason

Hello everyone, happy new year.

I would be very happy to have a piece of land in my name and the first thing that came to my mind was to take all the chaviztas (chavez supporters, political ideology) and leave them there.

I couldn't help but have that thought, it made me smile 😁😆😂.

Ha...ha.. i really had a hearty laugh after reading your commeny. Short and sweet. I too wil join u in this.

😁🤣🫣🤫

Someone giving me an island!!!!
Well first and foremost I will design it as a non-profit tourist spot, exclusively for -

  • ladies who need a break from their busy schedule,
  • a playground for children to remove their education stress and
  • a recreational centre for old age people to meet upto their expectations.

Why playground for children? Because I can see Apartments and business establishment taking over, once an open lush green playground.

Why I am choosing an island for all this purpose? Because it is one of the wonder of the nature, where the old and young enjoy equally.

Finally I will put a board stating it is a compulsory two weeks package, which means atleast for two weeks they can be just them.

It will be a dream come true to be given an island that is about 10km across in shape. The only thought buzzing in my head is a recreational facility. An island is surrounded by water. it would be perfect to create a relaxation centre with recreational facilities. The first thing I'd do is plant a lot of tropical plants like coconut, bananas and citruses. This of course will take time to grow but I am not in a hurry as it is a long term project. I'll then set up cabins in the centre of the island with different types of furnishings.I'll build an Olympic sized pool for fresh water for those who do not like to swim in the ocean very close to the cabin. I'll have a recreational centre at one end of the island where there will be basketball courts, volleyball courts, and handball courts. In the recreational centre there will be a playground for kids with different playground equipment. At one other end of the island will be a nature park with domestic animals like monkeys, squirrels, rabbits etc. This park will have lots of greenery and the animals will be free to move around. There will be chairs for sitting and swings in the nature park. I'll build an outdoor bar close to the ocean where tropical drinks are mixed and served. At the bar there will be people there to always sing and entertain guests. I'll also have a small clinic for emergencies and a stand by helicopter for very serious emergencies. There will be speed boats to ferry people to and from the island. I shall call it, "The Circle Island". Last but not the least, I shall install the internet to make sure my guests have access to the real world. All these will cost money but a good project plan can earn me a good enough grant sufficient enough to score this. My imagination runs wild.

I make the assumption that my island is in a rather warm climate so I don't need to hurry that much about building something house-like.
Anyways, I would make sure that I have internet on my island somehow.
I would prepare myself beforehand to figure out how to survive in such a climate. As I totally have no experience, I want internet so I can still connect to the rest of the world. Somehow I would like electricity as well, as my device to access the Internet would need power supply.

Than I would just try to live there for a year and see if I like it or not. It seems nice but on the other hand, being alone for a full year without accommodation, not sure if I would effectively enjoy it for my whole life. Re-evaluate after a year, if I like it, I'll stay there. If I don't like it, I can go on holidays to my island to 'deconnect'.

If it would end up to be totally not my thing, put it for sale and invest the money in such a way that I have a passive income stream.

Wo0t Wo0t fantastic thank you! congratulations everyone and good luck in the next comp

Wow if I was given an island I will turn it into paradise! I will plant indigenous/endemic trees and more! Maybe if I will live on it I will put a vegetable garden in there somewhere too! Ah but it will take years for trees to grow, especially mangroves.

Anyway once I have made it a paradise I will just keep it wild. The more animals that come and plants that grow the better. Will definitely help the world to have more forests out there. ❤️ 🌳

But of course in order to protect the island from greedy people, I will have to apply for conservation status for it I guess. 🤔

Anyway that's the extent of what I can think of. 🙂
