Hidden recipes: the secret legacy of great-great-grandmother

For generations, a recipe book has passed from mother to daughter in our family, a legacy that traces back to the time of my great-great-grandmother. On its worn brown leather cover, there is a hand-carved mark, now nearly faded, that represents our family tree. At first glance, it seems like just an old book, filled with traditional recipes and handwritten notes.

But there is much more here than typical dishes.

One Halloween night, during our pagan festival of Samhain, I accidentally discovered that some of its pages were different – as if certain ingredients and instructions revealed subtle enchantments that evoke protection, luck, or even deep emotions.

Only on this night, when the veil between the worlds of the living and the dead grows thin, allowing spirits to cross into our realm, do these special recipes shine; the words shift and almost dance, revealing mysteries and secret powers that only those who share the blood of its creator can decipher.

With each generation, the book grows stronger, bearing the intentions and secrets of all the women who have used it.

I also missed those recipé book that my Grandmother gave to me, but I forgot where I placed the recipé. I wish I could find it.
