Did you know that the world’s most notorious drug lord enjoyed immense loyalty from his counterpart’s and each Colombian more than the government in question to the point that if someone came across huge chunks of money buried in their backyards (he had so much money that his men selectively stored it through digging trenches and storing millions of dollars across Medellin) they hurriedly turned it up to him? Pablo Escobar’s Medellin cartel was the most successful, ruthless and extremist drug cartel clouding the South American state of Columbia and resulted to a widespread loathing by the people due to the pain it caused thousands of people. To comprehend the intricacies of the drug web lets unravel the mystery surrounding its kingpin and his vast control of the cocaine cartel back in the late 70’s.
The most philanthropic drug lord of all time
Despite ruthlessness and violence acts of his Medellin cartel, Escobar cared for the poor and contributing to their wellbeing on a wide scope. His social responsibility cloak enabled him to amass widespread support from the majority of the most vulnerable in the society and thereafter propelling him to clinch the congressman position without having to run any political mobilization campaign.
Allusion to “Plata or plomo”
The most notable analogy employed by Pablo Escobar’s empire spared no one when it involved his business. In a tête-a-tête with her mother and sister and when coerced on why he was causing endless distraught to other people in the society, he alluded to the fact that he is ‘mafiosi’ and as such his actions can only lead to one noble cause that befalls all who live by the gun which is dying by the gun.
His family’s alleged lack of information.
In an interview for the first time her sister confided to the media that none in the family knew of his drug and criminal activities until the Minister of Justice Rodrigo Lara Bonilla got assassinated courtesy of Pablo on 30th April 1984.Her sister has struggled to sell that version as well as offering a sympathetic approach to his brothers victims although her efforts are often times met with reproach.
Death on the eve of his 44th birthday.
Born on 2nd December 1949 Pablo was feared and worshipped in equal measure. After a tumultuous, revenging and extreme violence rocking the Colombian country for two decades, a police shoot on 1st December 1993 in his maiden operating base Medellin, Pablo died of multiple gun shots leading to a halt on the most notorious drug lord in the country and acknowledged worldwide. The drug cartel empire he had built on a bloody anecdote begun disintegrating and ultimately got dissolved with endless leadership wrangles amongst the rest of the gang members and eventually lost touch as Colombian government moved towards restoring dignity and advocating for the establishment of legit business working models.
