It's a good thing that social media itself will help to expose jerks like that and make them accountable for their actions. I don't know what their problem is but i really don't see any reason to erase all of that dude's data. That's just power hungry mods exhibiting absolute trash behaviour.
I was also banned from some reddit communities before without any reason. When I ask them why they don't even bother replying so I comment less and browse more on reddit these days.
