What is Monero's Major Malfunction??

in #monero7 years ago

Just before the big bitcoin pump the best coin on the market was Monero (XMR)
It increased 6-7x value in a few short months and was valued > Ethereum at one point

Now, though, every coin in the entire crypto world, even long forgotten dead ones with a broken chain and no development team have or are pumping.

And yet, Monero is just hanging out...

Loosing spots on the market cap chart

Yup, its now official.

Along with Ripple, Litecoin, NEM, ETC, and Dash

Stratis has now overtaken Monero for position #8

It is only a matter of time before waves moves in...

Or is it?

Is XMR the lone ranger, holding back to watch the rest of the cryptos inflate like a balloon before it too moves 300%-500%?
Slowly priming itself for the billions market share and proving itself a worthy competitor of Top Crypto?
Reclaiming lost positions?

If that's the case for XMR...

Get a Move On it!

My second option in investment - Steem being number one, of course!.

Nice, i dont share the same confidence for Steem though. Unfortunately i find it hard to invest in something when you can "mine" it through blogging.
If it gains attention as a currency, then i might become interested. But in the past, Steem is a very volitile coin, and although people are praising steemit for the rewards now, 3 months ago people were saying this place is ready to die.
But, then again. Steemit is probably the most active crypto token and has a very strong and more importantly, a rich community..
Could definetly be a good investment, just not for me at this moment.
Thanks for the comment

Do you think Monero will innovate their blockchain?

All crypto tend to do some innovation with there chain.
Are you talking new features down the road?
Or implementing new protocols?

I assume xmr will have to if it wants to stay competitive. Lots of Ico's, one could come along and take some market shares if xmr doesn't stay on top of it.

IMO, monero is quite the underdog. It has a good number of contributors in github. Which shows development is in progress. What I'm scared in the cryptoverse is abandoned projects. I don't want to invest in something that will be abandoned in the near future.

I doubt you have to worry about xmr being abandond, that would be crazy for a project with 500million+ cap.
That happens with lower cap crap. Lots of those coins find Yobit to be the graveyard.

it doesn't help that the lead developer trolls newcomers, pumping his coin with fake announcements and crashing it when its revealed to be yet another of his trolling.

Lol, i hadnt heard of the trolling. I heard some complaining about delays and crap announcements, but nothing too crazy.
Is that why it moved up to 0.025 than back down to 0.016? That kinda looked pump n dumpish

yep...once it was revealed to be a troll attempt by lead developer, price crashed back to the preannouncement price. not somethig investors or the crypto noob wants to be dealing with.

Agreed, that trolling made me wary of XMR. Not a professional way to behave as a developer for a major coin, knowing that you're scaring off investors and losing money for your supporters. Having said that, maybe XMR will only go up from here.

That is interesting. One thing i dont like is when devs play games... thats been a bad sign in past projects i get involved in, and im starting to get quite invested in xmr.
I have to check this out some more

im not entirely informed on XMR, i read its one of the, if not, the most anonymous crypto, and it seems to have some good development going for it. However, im not a programmer or coder, and it seems like thats the type of audince monero wants to attract. Not a good thing IMO, especially when the majority of the world will not be code savy enough to want to engage in this coin as long term, much less use it as currency, which is ultimately what all these coins are about. Reason why im somewhat weary of XMR and unless it becomes cheaper(price-wise), im sitting on the sides with this one. Maybe trade it for quick profits.

You make some good points.
Although it targets crypto savvy people, so do most of the other coins including Eth.
They all take alittle getting used to, and frankly is why most of mainstream population doesnt get involved.
I also believe we are still in the early stages of crypto, one of the next stages should be usability for the masses.
I would expect all cryptos to transition this way
