The identity of the creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto has been always a mystery and carries a heavy probability with itself of remaining a mystery forever. Multiple people, even groups of people have been "accused" of being him, while most of them have dismissed it jokingly.
Some pranksters or hoaxars, on the other hand, have been claiming that they are Satoshi Nakamoto. If he stayed in the shadow this long, then why out himself now and demand recognition?
In 2016, a blogger named Alexander Muse, referring to an anonymous source at the Department of Homeland Security (DHA), published an article about how the US government, namely the NSA, had cracked the identity of the legend.
How? Stylometry. Have you heard of stylometry? Me neither. But stylometry is analysing a person's writings and then combining them to a so-called digital fingerprint, allowing to recognize the person's writings everywhere.
So, according to the anonymous source, the government had obtained the data using their PRISM surveillance system.

Most FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) requests to various government organization have been left unanswered, but as David Oberhaus from Vice decided to follow up and sent a FOIA request to the CIA, he got a fast and cold answer:
“The request has been rejected, with the agency stating that it can neither confirm nor deny the existence of the requested documents.” (Via btcmanager.com)
While this answer itself does not prove anything as the CIA is famous for it's brief responses to unwelcome inquiries, it's an interesting piece nonetheless.
