RE: Steemit Loan Update for 8/14 - Testing an example of using a steem account as loan collateral

in #money8 years ago

@cactii,

I'm not kidding myself.

This is a community.

So far, the only people that want something from me are 'Follow me', 'upvote me' and 'read my blog' - and the spam in my messages people trying to sell me resteems - but as they're actually giving me .001 steem every time they message me, I guess I'm on the right side of that transaction.

I'm more of a cynic and 'people-watcher' than an over-estimator of human nature and I'm on the cynical side of that group too, as it goes.

I've been here for a little under a year and there may be those people that try to scam others, but because this is a close community and we're all about communication, word soon gets around and believe it or believe it not, these are the kind of people who would say:

"You lost all your money because of that scam-artist? Right, we'll see about that!"

And the next thing you know, the scam-artist would be flagged to oblivion, the community would be warned about the scam and the artist and the unfortunate gullible person would have a fund-raising post either written on their behalf or resteemed to high heaven and their lost Steem would be - if not returned, then at least replaced.

Also, and I speak from experience here, 'anonymity' is never quite so anonymous as people think.

Don't get me wrong, just like @virtualgrowth, I'm not gonna loan you $1000 Steem either, but I dare say, if you asked the right person, with the right kind of business plan and recompense program, you'd get that 1k and more too if the business plan was sound.
