The US National Retail Federation (NRF) has published forecasts for the dynamics of retail sales in the country in 2018 and 2019. The Federation expects retail sales to grow by about 4.5% in 2018. At the same time, growth in online sales will be at the level of 10-12%. For the current year, NRF assumes a 3.8%-4.4% sales growth. Their volume is expected to range from 3 trillion 820 billion dollars to 3 trillion 840 billion dollars. The increase in online sales will be the same as at the end of 2018 - by 10-12%. The estimates of the Federation are based on such factors that confirm the strength of the American economy, such as growth in the number of employees, tax cuts and a high level of confidence.

did the nrf estimate how the tariffs imposed on chinese products (which play a significant role in particularly us retail) will impact this?
doubt that the average us citizen will be as eager to buy with a sudden 15% increase on just about everything...
and yes, the tariffs will be payed for by the us shopper, not the chinese seller or exporter.
