Absolutely! Think of it in our present economy as well. Pastors and televangelists are able to sell their spiritual capital (real or otherwise) for financial capital! There are many more meta-physical and harder to prove elements in spiritual capital that I personally find valuable. However, it maintains merit in our present paradigm :)
