I agree with the overall sentiment of your article and you're right. Work towards your life; not just a job. In my case, I happen to like what I do as a job; since I get to test out new theories and undertake projects within the structure of my job. By myself, I couldn't do that. I think the key is to find a balance so that the repetitiveness of a job is balanced out by undertaking personal passions and hobbies.
