The shepherd replied: Take it with you and whatever you find with five dirhams bring it to me.

When he finished and began to review his accounts, he had only five dirhams, which belong to the shepherd and found nothing of value that can be bought with five dirhams only a fat cat was sold by the owner to get rid of him and the merchant bought a lock back to his country ..
On the way back, he passed a village and wanted to rest. When he entered, the villagers noticed the cat in his possession and asked him to sell it to him.

Then the merchant accepts the shepherd and he cries and says that God has compensated you good because you have accepted your livelihood and you have not been satisfied with it and told him the story and gave it gold.

✍ يحكى أن ﺭﺟلا ﺑﺴﻴطا ﻳﺮﻋﻰ ﻏﻨﻤﺎً ﻷﺣﺪ ﺍﻷﻏﻨﻴﺎﺀ ﻭﻳﺄﺧﺬ ﺃﺟﺮة تعبه ﻳﻮﻣﻴﺎً ﺑﻤﻘﺪﺍﺭ ﺧﻤﺴﺔ ﺩﺭﺍﻫﻢ ، ﻭﻓﻲ ﺃﺣﺪ ﺍﻷﻳﺎﻡ ﺟﺂﺀ ﺍﻟﻐﻨﻲ ﺇﻟﻰ ﺍﻟﺮﺍﻋﻲ البسيط ﻟﻴﺨﺒﺮﻩ ﺃﻧﻪ ﻗﺪ ﻗﺮﺭ ﺑﻴﻊ ﺍﻟﻐﻨﻢ ﻷﻧﻪ هم باﻟﺴﻔﺮ ﻭﺑﺎﻟﺘﺎﻟﻲ ﻓﻘﺪ ﺍﺳﺘﻐﻨﻰ ﻋﻦ ﺧﺪﻣﺎﺗﻪ ﻭﺃﺭﺍﺩ ﻣﻜﺎﻓﺄﺗﻪ ﻓﺄﻋﻄﺎﻩ ﻣﺒﻠﻐﺎً ﻛﺒﻴﺮﺍً ﻣﻦ ﺍﻟﻤﺎﻝ ﻏﻴﺮ ﺃﻥ ﺍﻟﺮﺍﻋﻲ ﺭﻓﺾ ﺫﻟﻚ ﻭﻓﻀﻞ ﺃﺟﺮﻩ ﺍﻟﺰﻫﻴﺪ ﺍﻟﺬﻱ ﺗﻌﻮﺩ ﺃﻥ ﻳﺄﺧﺬﻩ ﻣﻘﺎﺑﻞ ﺧﺪﻣﺘﻪ ﻛﻞ
ﻳﻮﻡ ﻭﺍﻟﺬﻱ ﻳﺮﻯ ﺑﺄﻧﻪ ﺗﻤﺜﻞ ﻣﻘﺪﺍﺭ ﺟﻬﺪﻩ..
ﻭﺃﻣﺎﻡ ﺍﻧﺪﻫﺎﺵ ﺍﻟﻐﻨﻲ ﻭﺍﺳﺘﻐﺮﺍﺑﻪ ﺃﺧﺬ ﺍﻟﺮﺍﻋﻲ ﺍﻟﺨﻤﺴﺔ ﺩﺭﺍﻫﻢ ﻭﻗﻔﻞ ﻋﺎﺋﺪﺍً ﺇﻟﻰ ﺑﻴﺘﻪ ، ﻇﻞ ﺑﻌﺪﻫﺎ ﻳﺒﺤﺚ ﻋﻦ ﻋﻤﻞ ﻭﻟﻜﻨﻪ ﻟﻢ يوفق ﻭﻗﺪ ﺍﺣﺘﻔﻆ ﺑﺎﻟﺨﻤﺴﺔ ﺩﺭﺍﻫﻢ ﻭﻟﻢ ﻳﺼﺮﻓﻬﺎ ﺃﻣﻼً ﻓﻲ ﺃﻥ ﺗﻜﻮﻥ ﻋﻮﻧﺎً ﻟﻪ
ﻳﻮﻣﺎً ﻣﻦ ﺍﻷﻳﺎﻡ ..
ﻭﻛﺎﻥ ﻫﻨﺎﻙ ﻓﻲ ﺗﻠﻚ ﺍﻟﻘﺮﻳﺔ ﺭﺟﻞ ﺗﺎﺟﺮ ﻳﻌﻄﻴﻪ ﺍﻟﻨﺎﺱ ﺃﻣﻮﻻً ﻓﻴﺴﺎﻓﺮ ﺑﻬﺎ ﻟﻴﺠﻠﺐ ﻟﻬﻢ ﺍﻟﺒﻀﺎﺋﻊ ﻭﻋﻨﺪﻣﺎ ﺣﺎﻥ ﻣﻮﻋﺪ ﺳﻔﺮﻩ ﺃﻗﺒﻞ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﺍﻟﻨﺎﺱ ﻛﺎﻟﻤﻌﺘﺎﺩ ﻳﻌﻄﻮﻧﻪ ﺍﻷﻣﻮﺍﻝ ﻭﻳﻮﺻﻮﻧﻪ ﻋﻠﻰ ﺑﻀﺎﺋﻊ ﻣﺨﺘﻠﻔﺔ
ﻓﻜﺮ ﺍﻟﺮﺍﻋﻲ ﻓﻲ ﺃﻥ ﻳﻌﻄﻴﻪ ﺍﻟﺨﻤﺴﺔ ﺩﺭﺍﻫﻢ ﻋﻠﻪ ﻳﺸﺘﺮﻱ ﻟﻪ ﺑﻬﺎ ﺷﻴﺌﺎً ﻳﻨﻔﻌﻪ ، ﻓﺤﻀﺮ ﻓﻲ ﻣﻦ ﺣﻀﺮﻭﺍ ﻭﻋﻨﺪﻣﺎ ﺃﻧﺼﺮﻑ ﺍﻟﻨﺎﺱ ﻋﻦ ﺍﻟﺘﺎﺟﺮ ﺃﻗﺒﻞ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﺍﻟﺮﺍﻋﻲ ﻭﺃﻋﻄﺎﻩ ﺍﻟﺨﻤﺴﺔ ﺩﺭﺍﻫﻢ ﺳﺨﺮ ﺍﻟﺘﺎﺟﺮ ﻣﻨﻪ ﻭﻗﺎﻝ ﻟﻪ ﺿﺎﺣﻜﺎً : ﻣﺎﺫﺍ ﺳﺄﺣﻀﺮ ﻟﻚ ﺑﺨﻤﺴﺔ ﺩﺭﺍﻫﻢ؟
ﻓﺄﺟﺎﺑﻪ ﺍﻟﺮﺍﻋﻲ: ﺧﺬﻫﺎ ﻣﻌﻚ ﻭﺃﻱ ﺷﻲﺀ ﺗﺠﺪﻩ ﺑﺨﻤﺴﺔ ﺩﺭﺍﻫﻢ ﺃﺣﻀﺮﻩ ﻟﻲ .
ﺍﺳﺘﻐﺮﺏ ﺍﻟﺘﺎﺟﺮ ﻭﻗﺎﻝ ﻟﻪ : ﺇﻧﻲ ﺫﺍﻫﺐٌ ﺇﻟﻰ ﺗﺠﺎﺭ ﻛﺒﺎﺭ ﻻ ﻳﺒﻴﻌﻮﻥ ﺷﻴﺌﺎً ﺑﺨﻤﺴﺔ ﺩﺭﺍﻫﻢ ﻫﻢ ﻳﺒﻴﻌﻮﻥ ﺃﺷﻴﺎﺀ ﺛﻤﻴﻨﺔ . ﻏﻴﺮ ﺃﻥ ﺍﻟﺮﺍﻋﻲ ﺃﺻﺮ ﻋﻠﻰ ﺫﻟﻚ ﻭﺃﻣﺎﻡ ﺇﺻﺮﺍﺭﻩ ﻭﺍﻓﻖ ﺍﻟﺘﺎﺟﺮ،..
ﺫﻫﺐ ﺍﻟﺘﺎﺟﺮ ﻓﻲ ﺗﺠﺎﺭﺗﻪ ﻭﺑﺪﺃ ﻳﺸﺘﺮﻱ
ﻟﻠﻨﺎﺱ ﻣﺎ ﻃﻠﺒﻮﻩ ﻣﻨﻪ ﻛﻞٌ ﺣﺴﺐ ﺣﺎﺟﺘﻪ
ﻭﻋﻨﺪﻣﺎ ﺍﻧﺘﻬﻰ ﻭﺑﺪﺃ ﻳﺮﺍﺟﻊ ﺣﺴﺎﺑﺎﺗﻪ ﻟﻢ ﻳﺘﺒﻘﻰ ﻟﺪﻳﻪ ﺳﻮﻯ ﺍﻟﺨﻤﺴﺔ ﺩﺭﺍﻫﻢ ﺍﻟﺘﻲ ﺗﻌﻮﺩ ﻟﻠﺮﺍﻋﻲ ﻭﻟﻢ ﻳﺠﺪ ﺷﻴﺌﺎً ﺫﺍ ﻗﻴﻤﺔ ﻳﻤﻜﻦ ﺃﻥ ﻳﺸﺘﺮﻳﻪ ﺑﺨﻤﺴﺔ ﺩﺭﺍﻫﻢ ﺳﻮﻯ ﻗﻂ ﺳﻤﻴﻦ ﻛﺎﻥ ﺻﺎﺣﺒﻪ ﻳﺒﻴﻌﻪ ﻟﻴﺘﺨﻠﺺ ﻣﻨﻪ ﻓﺄﺷﺘﺮﺍﻩ ﺍﻟﺘﺎﺟﺮ ﻭﻗﻔﻞ ﺭﺍﺟﻌﺎً ﺇﻟﻰ ﺑﻼﺩﻩ ..
ﻭﻓﻲ ﻃﺮﻳﻖ ﻋﻮﺩﺗﻪ ﻣﺮ ﻋﻠﻰ ﻗﺮﻳﺔ ﻓﺄﺭﺍﺩ ﺃﻥ ﻳﺴﺘﺮﻳﺢ ﻓﻴﻬﺎ ﻭﻋﻨﺪﻣﺎ ﺩﺧﻠﻬﺎ ﻻﺣﻆ ﺳﻜﺎﻥ ﺍﻟﻘﺮﻳﺔ ﺍﻟﻘﻂ ﺍﻟﺬﻱ ﻛﺎﻥ ﺑﺤﻮﺯﺗﻪ ﻓﻄﻠﺒﻮﺍ ﻣﻨﻪ ﺃﻥ ﻳﺒﻴﻌﻬﻢ ﺇﻳﺎﻩ
ﻭﺍﺳﺘﻐﺮﺏ ﺍﻟﺘﺎﺟﺮ ﺍﺻﺮﺍﺭ ﺃﻫﻞ ﺍﻟﻘﺮﻳﺔ ﻋﻠﻰ ﺿﺮﻭﺭﺓ ﺃﻥ ﻳﺒﻴﻌﻬﻢ ﺍﻟﻘﻂ ﻓﺴﺄﻟﻬﻢ ﻓﺄﺧﺒﺮﻭﻩ ﺑﺄﻧﻬﻢ ﻳﻌﺎﻧﻮﻥ ﻣﻦ ﻛﺜﺮﺓ ﺍﻟﻔﺌﺮﺍﻥ ﺍﻟﺘﻲ ﺗﺄﻛﻞ ﻣﺤﺎﺻﻴﻠﻬﻢ ﺍﻟﺰﺭﺍﻋﻴﺔ ﻭﻻ ﺗﺒﻘﻲ ﻋﻠﻴﻬﻢ ﺷﻴﺌﺎً ﻭﺃﻧﻬﻢ ﻣﻨﺬ ﻣﺪﺓ ﻳﺒﺤﺜﻮﻥ ﻋﻦ ﻗﻂ
ﻟﻌﻠﻪ ﻳﺴﺎﻋﺪﻫﻢ ﻓﻲ ﺍﻟﻘﻀﺎﺀ ﻋﻠﻴﻬﺎ ﻭﺃﺑﺪﻭﺍ ﻟﻪ ﺍﺳﺘﻌﺪﺍﺩﻫﻢ ﺑﺸﺮﺍﺀ ﺍﻟﻘﻂ ﺑﻮﺯﻧﻪ ﺫﻫﺒﺎً ﻭﺑﻌﺪ ﺃﻥ ﺗﺄﻛﺪ ﺍﻟﺘﺎﺟﺮ ﻣﻦ ﺻﺪﻕ ﻛﻼﻣﻬﻢ ﻭﺍﻓﻖ ﻋﻠﻰ ﺃﻥ ﻳﺒﻴﻌﻬﻢ ﺍﻟﻘﻂ ﺑﻮﺯﻧﻪ ﺫﻫﺒﺎً
