قد يكون راودك هذا التساؤل من قبل ! هل يمكننا سماع الأصوات في الفضاء ؟ الجواب الأكثر شيوعا هو " لا " لأن الفضاء كله فراغ و الصوت لا ينتشر في الفراغ ! لكن هذا الإعتقاد أصبح خاطئا لما نشرت Nasa الأصوات التي تُصدرها الكواكب في الفضاء

فعلى الرغم من أن الفضاء الخارجي هو فراغ افتراضي ( ليس فارغا تماما ) فإن الصوت موجود في شكل اهتزازات كهرومغناطيسية التي تنبض في موجات مماثلة و تنتقل دون الحاجة الى وجود وسط ناقل ، و مع تطور العلم أصبح بالإمكان سماع هذه الاهتزازات الكهروميغناطيسية .
