[looks up mattress topper] they look like mattress protectors so I'm going to assume they're the same thing with different names. Have you already tried the extra long hot wash thing with it? (or long cold wash if it can't go in hot) Good luck, hope it stops smelling toxic, otherwise for once I might be inclined to agree with hubby :S
