Pretense a killer of focus and self worth

Pretense

People usually pretend to be what they're not, but in reality they think that they are not good enough for what they want. Not good enough for promotion, so they pretend to put in more effort by using shortcuts. Not good enough to get a date with an attractive person, so they pretend to be who they are not in society. Feel outclassed by friends, so pretend to be someone else.

Inferiority a key player in pretense

Ultimately, pretenders suffers from the dilemma of inferiority complex. The only exception to this is when pretending is for a role in a movie as a film actor or actress. Obviously, everybody seek to be the best in his/her craft and the human mind tries to copy everything it sense from it's surrounding but this fact doesn't give exception to going against moral standard for self pleasing.

Sometimes people fear that showcasing their true selves are making them prone to judgments which they are not tolerant to. Also some people feel pretense is a way out in gaining acceptance from the society they are living in.

In their human mentality, trying to mirror the actions of the ones they adore-- but at the end they only manage to make themselves look foolish.
Pretense is an act to desist from because it doesn't portray our true personality as it is deceptive and even have the ability compounding our problems.

Socrates

An unexamined life Is not worth living

According to the above statement inline with pretense, you cannot give a detailed account of yourself if you are not yourself. Whenever you try to act as someone else other than yourself, you tend to loose your self worth and focus in life. You tend to derail from your goals. You can have mentors but don't live their lives.

Pretense is a killer and ensure not to be caught in the web else you live a life full of regrets.
