One thing that has the power to kill your dreams very fast is when you begin to think that you have gotten to the peak of growth. When you begin to think that at a certain point, you cannot go farther than the current level you have attained.
One definite secret of those who have attained a certain level of success is in their ability to know that, growth is something that is definite and constant.
There is nothing that kills faster than thinking that you have reached a height where growth is no longer necessary or important.
Growth is necessary for people who just started climbing the ladder of success, for those who have a little achievement and as well for those who have bigger and better achievement. Growth process has no limit.
Just take a look at this scenario: Imagine that four people are in a competition, they are supposed to run and the winner ,of course, takes the medal.
Then imagine that, there is someone who is almost winning the race and he has his fanz hailing him already, all that he needs is a little distance to get the medal but because he looks back and he sees that other competetors are still far behind and everyone is hailing him, he decides to slow down and rest for a little while.
The truth is that some other competitors will overtake him within a twinkle of an eye and he might end up loosing out to another person.
The same thing is applicable to business men and women, the moment you begin to relent as a business man or woman, other business minded individuals will over take you and you will immediately loose your relevance in the market.
That is just the way life plays itself, the moment you begin to feel that you have achieved and you do not need to put in any other exta effort to the things you do, someone else will overtake you, and even with a very high speed that it will happen before you blink an eye.
My opinion on this issue is that, the same drive that took you to the level of success you have attained presently should never leave you, it should push you farther to keep you on top of your game and make you an achiever.

@gbenga i agree with your opinion ,but i believe education and the people you met on your way matters alot, since as an individual we are entitle to our opinion and the outcome so i think achievement easily get into some peoples head thats why there relent. nice post.

One of the reasons there is constant increase in business liquidation in Nigeria is the inability of the firm to manage business transistion (growth). To get to the top is the same as challenging as to remain at the top. As an individual or firm regardless of stage of life cycle of the business, there is need for constant re-invention and innovation to stay relevant.

Wow....this reminds of what Donald Trump wrote in his book, Think Big And Kick Ass In Business. He said momentum is the most important thing. Spoke about how he let the media praise get into his head about having the golden touch,which eventually led to his downfall back then. I can never forget that lesson.
