It soothes feelings and stimulates thinking to see soldier ants, little social insects, gather pieces of food from far places for future use in the African tropical climate. Like angry soldiers these tiny swarming army of ants arrange themselves in amazing aesthetic style and carry food particles many times their size. The food particles will seem to float along in a definite direction as the ants apply their strength. The gatherings continue until dry season creeps in. During the wet season the ants live in abundance of food in their subterranean abode.
It is equally amazing to see birds construct sophisticated piece of architecture by way of nests for laying eggs and nurturing the young ones. These animals are never taken unawares. There is no impromptu or makeshift in their domain. By unmistakable precision they respond to instincts and get things done in the most excellent ways. Soon eggs are laid into the padded nests; then incubated and hatched. These young ones are offered enviable attention until they grow up.
These lower animals challenge mankind to learn to plan ahead for the future. We ought to get our minds activated to generate helpful thoughts to fetch good income, plan magnificent projects and meet obvious pressing needs. These lower animals utilize their instincts to the fullest to get things done. Mankind is endowed with a greater capacity by way of gigantic mental faculty for originating solutions to puzzling situations. Any problem not soaked in sufficient imagination and resolved by sound thinking under God becomes a tight spot and a source of heartbreak. Man’s creative ability resides in the mind and is exercised through correct thinking and planning. The moment it is ignored like a dead fly the outcome is often tearful and sorrowful. Timely application of the brain resources by God’s help has enabled mankind to build magnificent structures (buildings, roads, dams and bridges) and to invent awesome means of sailing across high seas and oceans, flying in the distant skies, communicating with people in distant places and keeping food fresh for months in cold apparatus.
The human brain has inexhaustible capacity to eliminate all provoking problems in man’s habitation. It demands training oneself by education and skills acquisition to effectively apply the mind. Engage your brain today.

It truly does pay to plan. And you're right, the birds and the bees do it, why shouldn't we? I think we get comfortable with being taken care of by our society and are less directly impacted by seasonal change, whereras those living directly in nature have to deal with the brutal change that is inevitable each year. NOT planning is death, and thus the stakes are much higher. Thankfully most of us do not have to experience that level of intensity BUT it makes me think about the importance of planning.
