If you want to get something done ask a busy person to do it.
This is a saying that I heard often while growing up. The idea is that the busier you are the easier it is for you to add one more thing to do. And the other part is that once you are on the go, it is easier to keep going.
The biggest challenge in getting something done is to get started. To get going. Procrastination is a huge problem and a difficult challenge to overcome. So many people seem to struggle to get going in any of a number of areas. And it can have such negative results when we procrastinate. The Bible says it like this.
A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest— and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.
Pro 24:33-34 NIV
There is no strategy that will eliminate the temptation to procrastinate. There is no pill that you can take that will launch you out of your bed or chair and get you going. You simply have to start. You have to take the first step. The second step will be easier and the third even easier.
Another saying I hear often is this.
You do not have to be great to start. But you have to start to be great!
Don't try to do it all at once. Just take the first step. And then the second.
Don't worry too much about tomorrow. Get done what you are able to do today.
Whatever you do, just start doing it. Don't wait. Just don't!

Definitely true. I find that once I get started, its often easy to finish, or at least make decent progress.
