Unequivocally, you said it all. Like you mentioned, getting the attention of the whale's on steemit by commenting meaningfully is a good start for new users But it all happens that everybody wants the same thing as you do. Before you can even read through the post of your aspirant whale, there are many comments that have been dropped before yours. The only thing is to keep trying without letup. Even those with massive sp you follow like housefly for buttock, will still be stingy to notice and show you love on your post.
