This is the same reason that many people will repeat the same mistake over and again, because they obviously did not learn anything from their first experience.
I like the way you put that. You're right, many people don't even pay attention to their own experiences. They just live the life that another person planned for them. Hence, they're not very conscious of their experiences - thereby repeating same mistakes, because quite frankly - they learned nothing from it. Nice post!
