Going After Micro Dreams To Give You The Boost For Big Dreams

in #motivational3 years ago (edited)

When a child is born, he does not start to run in days. He has to start from sitting, then when sitting alone is mastered, he will start to crawl. After the act of crawling is mastered, that is when he will be introduced to standing before he can take his first step forward and most times, this can take several months. All these will serve as a boost or motivation for the process of walking for the child. If a child is waiting to start running from the on-set, he may never achieve walking.

What discourages most people is that they set unrealistically large dreams and do not see the need to start from where they are. There is nothing bad about having your eyes on big dreams but what you should understand is that you have to start from where you are and with the resources that are available at your disposal.

In addition to setting up a big dream, you should also have a working plan to go about it. The most potent one is to break it up into micro dreams and with that, it will be easier to get started. More so, you have to set a workable timeframe to complete the first micro dream. When you pursue and get the dream, the zeal will be heightened and will give you the boost for the second. With each micro dream you undertake, you will draw closer to the fulfilment of the big dream.

Furthermore, there is the kind of joy that arises from the celebration of a micro dream that you fulfilled. However, while celebrating that dream, you should not be too carried away by it to forget that you need to pursue the next one before the first one becomes stale.

When you see that an idea seems too big for you, you should not be too quick to change the idea. What you have to do is to devise a plan to make the idea workable by dividing it into smaller ideas and pursuing them one after the other. With this, you will discover the level of ease you will have in the course of executing the idea.

In academics for example, the reason why you cannot jump from nursery school into a degree program is because you are not already prepared for it. Going through primary school and through secondary school will get you prepared for you to enter university or college to pursue the degree you want. Similarly, when you have a big dream, what qualifies you and gets you prepared is the other minor dreams that you have in relation to the big dream.

What you need to do in the pursue of your dreams is to get started. Once you start, you will be surprised how each step that you take will lead you towards the fulfilment of your dream. The truth is, no matter the distance you want to cover in your destination, it has to start with a step. In the same way, for every dream you want to achieve, you have to understand that it cannot fulfil itself but you need to put steps towards it.
