Have you been to the notorious Nürburgring race track in Germany? How was the experience?

Yes I have and I will show you some of the photos I took as I went there to see it. Well what can I say it is just an awesome track with so much history.

It started in mid August. I was in Germany for a business trip and would stay there for a couple of months. the first weekend was really boring and so for the next weekend I decided I would rent a car and explore Nürburgring.

Now the reason why I was visiting it was

  1. I am a motorsports fan and I love Formula 1
  2. The track history is just awesome
  3. Niki Lauda

So friday evening after work, I started from a small city in NRW, Germany. I booked myself a nice place near Nürburgring called Reil. It was a beautiful city as you can see in the pictures below that I took.

This photo was taken on saturday morning,

Yep grapeyards and loads of it,

This was the place I stayed in, a nice room rented by a very nice German gentleman,

After enjoying and taking more seflies at Reil, I decide to start my journey to Nürburgring at around 9 am, it was pretty sunny and a beautiful day,

I saw some pretty cars along the way and bikes too ,

And there it was the entrance to the Nürburgring,

Of course it was an entry for people with cars, so that they can race them there, but opposite to it was an area called Adenau, which was a view point where general people could view the track ,

after a few seconds the cars came roaring,

Then a German guy who was standing there was kind enough to tell me that there was a "time attack" kind of event going on and potential race drivers could be selected by the German Motorsports division.

and this was another view point as you walk along the track,

I tried to go to the spot where Niki Lauda had the big accident back in 1976, but the security stopped me and told me that the area is too risky and visitors are not allowed to even stand on the side of the track, that was disappointing,

After that I went to the Nürburgring museum which was about 5 km from the track,

They have a great collection of Formula 1 cars from the 90s and 2000s

And after clicking a few pictures with the Legends,

I went to a Nürburgring track simulator, which was inside a gaming cafe near the museum,

and then as I came out I spotted a lovely Lamborghini,

Then going back to my stay was sad as I knew that was the end of my fun trip, I slept halfheartedly,

But the next day morning view from the window cheered me back up,

I bid farewell to the owner's pet,

And said goodbye for now to Reil and Nürburgring,
