Bulgaria is famous for its beautiful majestic mountains and the treasures that hide under them ..
Old legends say that the Rhodopes was a girl famous for her beauty and liked by all the gods. Everyone wanted her only for themselves and tried to capture and steal her .
The god Hemus was especially jealous and did not want anyone but him to look at her, and so he began to throw stones with which he wanted to make heaps to hide her from the eyes of ordinary people and deities. Legend has it that the Plovdiv hills grew out of these stone mounds.
Despite everything, they did not help spread the rumor about the beauty of the Rhodopes. People and gods came to see her and as soon as they saw her, they instantly fell in love with her. ♥️
Rage and jealousy seized God Hemus and, unable to protect her from prying eyes, he petrified the beautiful girl and she became a mountain .
According to another legend, in the place of the Rhodopes stretched a vast plain, which was dotted with fragrant and beautiful roses. Zeus' daughter Persephone often picked roses there with her retinue. ☘️
On one of the walks Zeus, angry with his daughter, turned the most beautiful of her friends - the Rhodopes, into a mountain .
I have been to the Rhodopes thousands of times and it has never been the same ..

Living in harmony with nature, the Rhodope people have managed to keep as if untouched for thousands of years the beautiful places with a huge variety of plants and animals .🥰
We managed to touch these sacred lands, even if only for a few days, to breathe fresh air and to live calmly, away from the hectic daily life and worries .♥️
