Summary of this year on a global level would be: we had it all. Ok, almost all; asteroid missed the Earth, probably changed its mind when was close enough and saw where is headed.
Doomsday clock is on two minutes to midnight and this is the world we live in;
- Covid-19 pandemics,
- wildfires all around the world (biggest in Australia, America, Siberia) that destroyed enormous amount of plants and animals,
- locust swarms in Africa,
- floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, volcanoes (67 confirmed eruptions from 63 different volcanoes, 22 of those were new eruptions that started during the year),
- massive explosion in Beirut,
- climate crisis and endangering melting of ice sheets,
- deadly air pollution,
- solar eclipse, blue moon, conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn,
- Davos forum with the great reset agenda,
- Brexit (and Megxit ;P), US elections, protests against dictatorship and stolen elections (in Serbian and Ukraine), BLM protests,
- stock market crash, even Google crashed for an hour :O
- SpaceX.s journey up and down again (with successful landing),
- Chinese flag on the Moon,
- South Korea's artificial sun set new world record (shined for 20 seconds at 100 million degrees),
- new step toward transhumans with Neuralink.s brain chip,
- Nobel prize for CRISPR,
- corona vaccine(s) and many other events more or less noticed.
Even “monolith” from 2001: Space Odyssey appeared LOL

But ofc, most important event is me joining Hive ;P with no previous experience with blockchains.
All in all, very, very, stressful year with “new normal” and new new.
So, my recommendation for NY entertaining program is movie Death to 2020
Irony, sarcasm, references to contemporary pop culture are used for critical overview of this year.
For my taste too much time given to just few political events but generally is ok; funny and disturbing at the same time.

Really? You believe so? Compared to history, we never had so few people die, we never had so few wars, we have never gotten so old as we become today. Yes, a lot is happening around the world that we may have wanted not to happen. But this is of all times. The difference with the past is: Everything that happens is thrown into our faces, while in the past most of the information never reached us.

It is interesting how you interpreted the txt. Have you read down part of the list or stopped at half ;P
This could be example what is happening when you give people data; what they do is see it through their own mental filter, that is, interpret it in some way, give it some meaning and value. What is in the list are facts. When you say do I really believe that, believe what? I did.t evaluate them just put them in line, facts exist regardless one believe it or not ;).
Doomsday clock is not about end of the world, (I believe we will survive as species for very long time, just this generation is not going to be here any more to witness that) it is about some global catastrophe that will destroy planet beyond the possibility of reparation; scientists made it not me ;) And it is not 2 min to midnight but 1min 40sec actually, 2 min is hidden reference to one song...
Talking about quality of life, I do agree and in my posts I did mention that more than once; but in order to keep the quality and improve it, it is needed to take care of the resources, they are not unlimited and not should be taken for granted as we do now.
Having a positive view of the world and being optimistic is not enough for desired outcomes, it requires actions, starting from personal life then further.

Again, 100% agree. Something that will become even more important in the relative near future. When AI will create, produce and serve us 100% without humans needed. When all humans have 100% of their time available to spend on whatever we want; No need to work to earn an income. When we are in that phase of the future, we'll need to make sure the resources available to all of us, are used and distributed without capitalistic methods at play.
I'm 100% sure we will enter the phase, AI doing everything for us. I'm not so sure we can handle the transistions we require to be able to deal with that and make sure the resources are in public hands instead of private corporates.
