Just saw this story over at CNN. Apparently Michelle is unhappy with the lack of female roles in the series. While I admit it was a little light in Fast 8, I'm also not sure much can be done about it.

Jordana Brewster was effectively written out of the series with the death of Paul Walker, and she was never an active player in the crew in any case, short of when she helped from Dom from the prison transport bus in Fast 5.

Gal Gadot will be greatly missed by me, but it looks like she's taking a calculated gamble on her superhero career with DC, rather than continuing with the Fast series.

Elsa Pataky was definitely underused on the 6th, 7th, and 8th films which ultimately resulted in her catching a bullet in Fast 8.

Charlize Theron is the first female baddy, and she may very well return for the next two films, so she might still be around for a while.

Nathalie Emmanuel is a weak link for sure. She seems to bring nothing to the series other than she created "God's Eye." I suppose she's there to be competed over by Tej and Roman.

Helen Mirren is a capable actress, but does she have some skill we aren't familiar with? Maybe she an expert sniper like she was in the Red series of movies.

Bottom line, I don't know how to appease Michelle's request for more female characters.
