The story portrays of risk, lie, and forgiveness. The girl named Madeline was confined with SCID a Severe Immunodiffiecency by her Doctor mom but before the sickness, the whole family was devastated by a tragic accident that killed her dad and little older brother. So her mom didn't want to lose loved ones again. After the tragic incident; the girl suffers a high fever as her mom is a doctor and trying to figure it out where is her sickness from, but of course, the medical result was a just weak immune system that can cope with healthy food to eat prior to her SCID that her mom confined with her. A SCID is a very sensitive case, you need to avoid dust, unhealthy foods, and you are allergic to everything. That is why from food to her clothes it needs to be sterilized to prevent complications. The girl has been isolated 18 years, she doesn't go to school, never met new friends except to her nurse and the daughter of. Their house filled with glasses designed with natures with a very close one and secure to her condition.
One day, she met a new friend named Olly who change her everything. Olly is new to their place, she saw him attractive with his skateboard as Olly too. It was just a second but she fell in love with him. It was perfect for them because they can see each other from their house to Olly to her. It was coincident happened that her room and Olly's room faced-off. So since Olly was new to their place, Olly offered a cake to Madeline's mom and asked where is she. But her mom refuses to tell everything and asked to go back to their house. Olly wasn't surprised to a sarcastic action to Madeline's mom but they kept on laughing with his sister. Madeline saw everything, she asked her mom why she did that way. Her mom said that the cake wasn't looked good, she smiled at her.
Madeline changed her life after she met Olly. They tried to talk but of course, they couldn't hear both. So Olly had an idea, he wrote his number to the window and of course, Madeline saved up. They began texting;
Olly said; hi
Madeline replied: hello.
Olly asked: What is the color of your eyes
Madeline replied: It is brown almost black.
Olly said you are beautiful.
Madeline said thank you.
They had a frequent communication, shared experiences and thoughts. Olly asked everything why she couldn't go out. Madeline explains that she has a condition called SCID. But due to getting close to Olly and she thinks she fell in love with him. Olly once asked Madeline's nurse that he wants to talk to Madeline inside personally. So the nurse decided to give authorities in coming inside and talk to Madeline. They had a perfect day and of course, they both felt awkward and Madeline shows what is the inside, her doings, and activities... Olly asked her if one day she will be able to go out, what place she wants to venture. Madeline said that the Ocean, she never saw an ocean before. So after a talked and it is time Olly to leave, Olly got an idea to surprise her, he posted a lot of pictures on Madeline's glass wall with different kind of oceans and place.Madeline appreciated and been more in love with Olly. One afternoon when Olly got in trouble with her dad outside and Madeline saw everything, she goes out to comfort Olly and her mom was so shocked. Olly asked her to go inside, but Madine couldn't control that she felt pity with Olly. Her Mom forced her to go inside and Madeline have she didn't have a choice but she has to. Her mom confronted her that why she did that and he took a risk for strangers but her mom asked her if "is he stranger to you?". Her mom knew everything. She confronted the nurse if why she allow Olly to go inside an talk to Madeline. The nurse explains, but her mom out of controlled and fired-out Madeline's nurse. Madeline was so upset, she said it was all her fault. But her mom doesn't listen.
After days passes by Madeline got grounded, her mom gave a schedule to use phone and computer to avoid Olly... Even her mom discouraged Madeline that Olly got a new one which is not. Olly explains everything. After several days, Madeline booked a flight to Hawaii with Olly. Tomorrow then, Madeline watching out if Olly was there when she got a chance, she went out and asked Olly to leave the place with. Olly was so shocked and asked why she did that, he added, you are so sick. Madeline said to him that no, I need to know if she is still sick, she felt ain't living, she wants to live just one perfect day. Olly asked his younger sister to keep watch out their mom and not to tell anybody if where they will stay.
They reach the airport and flew out to Hawaii. In the movie, you can see Madeline how happy she was, she was so amazed to see out of her shell. Madeline also booked a hotel to where they will stay. Hours later they reached out. Her mom went home and finding her since she was not around, her mom tried to her room and found a letter that she needs to go out and told her mom that she loved her. Her mom got panicked, she called the emergency hotline to find Madeline not knowing where Madeline was. Madeline felt so happy to experience the sea, diving into the ocean and everything. But days after, Madeline felt sicked with high fever and unconscious. Olly brought her to the nearby hospital. After then when Madeline got conscious, she was already home. She asked her mom where is Olly, but her mom asked Olly to leave her. One day when her doctor from Hawaii called her according to her status, the doctor explains that she got a high fever because of the bacteria so Madeline added that she has a SCID. The doctor said that I don't think you have a SCID, you don't have that sickness. So Madeline went to the room of her mom and finding her medical history but nothing was stated that she has a SCID. She confronted her mom and angry why the doctor gives her a doubt. But since Madeline felt betrayed with her mom, she leaves the house and went to her nurse and cried out. Tomorrow then, her mom brought some things for Madeline and explains why she did so. And Madeline asked to leave her She contacted Olly again and asked to go somewhere around the world. After then, Madeline was so happy and felt the love with Olly.
This movie will make you cry as to what her mother did. But all in all was an excellent one. I couldn't complain.
